2048 Animals
Merge up the food chain, from mouse to dragon.
The Evolution Ladder
2048 Animals swaps numbers for creatures: pair two of a kind and they evolve into something bigger, from the humble mouse all the way to the dragon. The rules are exactly classic 2048, so every strategy transfers - only your brain's pattern-matching gets a friendlier face.

How the Theme Changes Your Play
Nothing mechanical changes: spawns are still 90% mouse and 10% rabbit, merges still follow the one-merge-per-move rule, and the score is identical to the numeric board. What changes is how quickly you read a position. Creatures are recognised whole, the way you recognise a face, rather than decoded like a numeral, so most players find they spot a mergeable pair a fraction faster here than on the classic board.
The cost is at the top of the ladder. Numbers tell you their own ordering, but there is no arithmetic that says a bear outranks an ox. Until the sequence is memorised you have to lean on the caption under each creature, and that is exactly where careless moves creep in. The fix is the same discipline as always: keep the biggest creature anchored in a corner and build a descending line beside it, so the board's shape tells you the ordering even when the names do not.
Good for Playing With Kids
This is the variant to hand to a child who is not ready for powers of two. The evolution story does the teaching: small animals combine into bigger ones, and the idea that two of the same thing make one better thing lands without a single number on screen. When they are ready, the classic board is the same game with the numbers switched back on, and the 3x3 board makes for shorter sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does 2048 Animals work?
Standard 2048 rules with an evolution chain instead of numbers: two mice make a rabbit, two rabbits make a fox, and eleven merges up the food chain sits the dragon at the 2048 spot. Every animal announces its point value to screen readers.
What is the animal order?
Mouse, Rabbit, Fox, Wolf, Boar, Horse, Deer, Ox, Bear, Lion, and the Dragon as the winning tile. Learning who outranks whom is half the fun for the first few games.
Is this good for kids?
Very. The animal ladder makes the doubling concept tangible for younger players, there are no ads or popups anywhere, and it plays perfectly on school Chromebooks and tablets.
